The DSO is holding remote auditions for 2025-26 Season
The Dubuque Symphony Orchestra invites skilled musicians on all orchestral instruments to submit virtual auditions. Successful applicants will be considered for placement on our substitute musician roster.
About the Orchestra
The Dubuque Symphony Orchestra is a regional professional ensemble based in Dubuque, Iowa. The mission of the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra is to engage the tri-state community and enrich its quality of life through live musical performances and educational programs. We present a variety of concerts each season, including classical, pops, and educational programs.
Virtual Audition Process
Auditions will be conducted via video submission, allowing musicians to participate from anywhere. Applicants should submit unedited video recordings of the required excerpts and solo repertoire as outlined in the audition materials. All videos must be uploaded to YouTube as either “Public” or “Unlisted”.
How to Apply
Interested musicians should submit their materials to the DSO Personnel Manager, Mike White, at MWhite@dubuquesymphony.org. In your message, please include your name, instrument, a brief musical résumé, or summary of your experience, and the relevant YouTube audition link.
Deadline for Submissions
Audition materials will be accepted throughout the 2025/26 Season. Later submissions may not receive consideration for the current season.
Eligibility
Musicians must be eligible to work in the United States and be available for rehearsals and performances during the DSO’s 2025–26 concert season.
We encourage highly qualified professional musicians with substantial professional orchestral playing experience to apply!
