Auditions

The Dubuque Symphony Orchestra announces auditions for the following positions:
Assistant Concertmaster (3rd Chair), AP Violin 2, Section Violin (1),
AP Viola, Section Viola (1), Principal Keyboard

Auditions will be held Thursday, September 17, 2026 at Five Flags Theater, 405 Main Street, Dubuque, IA 52001.

Expected 40-45 services per season.
The DSO offers a mileage stipend and housing for all concert sets.

About the Orchestra
The Dubuque Symphony Orchestra is a regional professional ensemble based in Dubuque, Iowa. The mission of the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra is to engage the tri-state community and enrich its quality of life through live musical performances and educational programs. We present a variety of concerts each season, including classical, pops, and educational programs.

Eligibility
Musicians must be eligible to work in the United States and be available for rehearsals and performances during the DSO’s 2026-27 concert season.

We encourage highly qualified professional musicians with substantial professional orchestral playing experience to apply!
