Welcome to the 2025-2026 concert season of the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra! Our concerts are designed to inspire, entertain, and move you—as well as to be a fun night out!

All season long we will explore different styles and soundscapes, providing you with so many thrilling moments. There’s something magical about hearing the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra live, sharing the experience with hundreds of other people, all being moved in the moment by music. What a refreshing alternative to the screens that are so pervasive in our lives these days!

I can’t wait for these concerts! Some favorite pieces—yours and mine—that I’m looking forward to include Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, Bernstein’s Candide Overture, Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances, Sibelius’ Finlandia and his Symphony No. 1, Barber’s Violin Concerto, Mozart’s Symphony No. 40, Brahms’ Variations on a Theme by Haydn, and—as an epic finale—Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with a massive choir and vocal soloists.

We will feature outstanding soloists all season. Star cellist Zuill Bailey will return to be our Artist-in-Residence, performing chamber music, a new cello concerto by Michael Gilbertson, and other outreach in the community. We will also welcome star pianist Michelle Cann, violinist (and former DSO Concertmaster) Eleanor Bartsch, singers Megan Gloss, Amanda Hauta, Iris Allen and Álvaro Ramirez.

In addition, we will feature many of our DSO players in solos on the November Classics concerts as well as in our new chamber music concerts. These chamber concerts will be in different locations around town, reaching new and existing audiences, and will include a variety of programs including a family concert.

Our Holiday Concerts will delight you and fill you with the holiday spirit. Our popular rock show, renamed DSO Rocks!, will be back with an added third performance in January. Our Summer Melodies concert will be a perfect way to spend a summer evening by the river.

So please join us! Subscribe today! And thank you for supporting YOUR Dubuque Symphony Orchestra!

Musically yours,

Dr. William Intriligator
