The Dubuque Symphony Orchestra introduced its first youth training ensemble in 1969. The program has expanded a great deal since then with 100 of the area’s best student musicians currently participating in the Dubuque Youth String Ensemble, Dubuque Youth Philharmonia, Dubuque Youth Wind Ensemble or Dubuque Symphony Youth Orchestra.
Contributions to our youth ensemble program help pay for the following:

The gifts you share now will enable aspiring young musicians to fully express their range of artistic talents and so much more. Patience, respect for one another, discipline, personal responsibility, cooperation and teamwork are absolutely essential when it comes to performing as part of an ensemble. These valuable life lessons remain with the students for many years to come and help build a solid foundation that will serve them well in whatever endeavors they ultimately decide to pursue.
All gifts received in support of the youth ensembles program are tax deductible and will be acknowledged in the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra concert program.
