The Dubuque Symphony Orchestra League (DSOL) has been an integral support group for the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra (DSO) since its inception in 1966. Consisting of dedicated volunteers, the DSOL focuses on both financial support and music education opportunities for the DSO. The DSOL has contributed over $1,130,000 to the DSO. Additionally, its dedicated members have volunteered an impressive 231,094 hours, supporting various activities such as orchestra luncheons, guest artist gifts, fundraising activities, and event assistance.

Every year the League contributes support to the youth education programs in the community such as the 3rd and 5th grade Arts Trek concerts and the 4th grade Adopt-A-Musician programs. We also support the Dubuque Symphony Youth Orchestra by sponsoring the Concerto Competition and contributing to the Dubuque Symphony Youth Ensembles. The League sponsors other events that include Sound Bites luncheons held on the Friday prior to the Classics concerts, Musical Musing prior to the Sunday concerts, as well as the Senior Classics program, now in its 14th year. The Senior Classics program provides performances by DSO musicians and the Youth Orchestra to entertain residents and their families at local nursing homes and assisted living centers.
