Dave Klavitter, a Dubuque native, returned home in 2009 after living in Madison, Wis., and Washington, D.C. He's been a dedicated American Red Cross volunteer and met his wife, Kara, during a disaster training assignment. They're now raising three creative kids in a century-old home in Dubuque’s historic Langworthy neighborhood.

Passionate about music and theater, Dave and his family participate in Grand Opera House and Dubuque Youth and Heartland Ballet productions, as well as the St. Raphael Cathedral Choir. Dave also is the drummer for the long-running alternative rock band, Box 10.

Professionally, Dave serves as the chief marketing officer for Dupaco Community Credit Union. He's actively involved in community development through organizations like Heritage Works and the Iowa Credit Union League.

Dave graduated from the University of Northern Iowa and holds an MBA from Johns Hopkins University.
