Dubuque Symphony Orchestra Welcomes New Director of Development

The Dubuque Symphony Orchestra (DSO) welcomes Kara Murphy as its new Director of Development.

Murphy has been advancing the missions of non-profit organizations for more than 20 years. Most recently, she worked for the Finley Health Foundation, partnering with donors to support UnityPoint Health – Finley Hospital’s Grandview Expansion Capital Campaign, the Pediatric Therapy Center Expansion Project, as well as medical equipment and program needs. In her new role, Kara is most excited about “becoming immersed in the arts and culture scene of Dubuque, and continuing to build on the DSO’s strong fundraising program.”

“The Dubuque Symphony Orchestra is so incredibly proud to add Kara to the DSO family,” shares Mark Wahlert, DSO Executive Director. “With her years of experience, knowledge of the community, and outstanding skill sets, we look forward to many more years of success as we add Kara’s talents to an already outstanding organization.”

Kara is a native of Dubuque, who has lived in Cedar Falls, Iowa; Kaiserslautern, Germany and Omaha, Nebraska, before returning home.
