Dubuque Symphony Orchestra Classics Season Opens February 26-27, 2022

The Dubuque Symphony Orchestra opens its 2021/22 Classics season with “Resonate with Romance” February 26-27 at Five Flags Theater, downtown Dubuque.

“I am so excited to begin our Classics series!” shares Music Director and Conductor William Intriligator. “It has been a long time since we’ve presented a Classics program, and we have many new faces in the orchestra after our successful Fall auditions. We welcome husband and wife soloists Terrence Tam (violin) and Lorraine Min (piano). This will be their long-awaited Dubuque debuts, since they were originally scheduled to perform with us in March 2020, right when the pandemic forced us all to shelter in place. I am so excited to feature these two wonderful musicians! They are both virtuosos, and lovely people which comes across in their performing on stage. They will be playing two well-loved Romantic concertos: the Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1 and the Saint-Saëns Piano Concerto No. 2. Curiously, these concertos were both written in the same year and in the same key, G minor. It’s funny, but this wasn’t planned!”

The concerts will be held at 7:30 pm Saturday, February 26 and 2:00 pm Sunday, February 27 at Five Flags Theater, downtown Dubuque. The theater ticket counter opens 1 hour prior to performance. Masks are required at all times during the performance.

Tickets ($18-87) are available through the Five Flags Box Office, (corner of 4th and Locust) open Mon-Fri from 10am-1pm & 2pm-5pm or www.dubuquesymphony.org (Ticketmaster fees apply to online purchases).

For those wanting to avoid online fees or a trip to the box office, season ticket packages are still available at the DSO office. Packages begin with just 3 Classics concerts. New subscribers get 30% off the full 4 Classics series. Call 563-557-1677 to order.
