Violist Emma Cifrino earned her DMA at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she is now working on a PhD in historical musicology with a focus on 20th-century British women composers. Originally from central Maine, Emma also holds a B.Mus from Lawrence University and an M.Mus from Bowling Green State University. Career highlights include an appearance on Live From WFMT in Chicago, performing at Early Music America's Young Performers Festival with the BGSU Early Music Ensemble, and serving as a Resident Artist Fellow at Atlantic Music Festival. Her greatest joy, though, is teaching — which she is privileged to do at Beloit College (applied violin and viola) and the University of Wisconsin Baraboo-Sauk County (music history).
