Ed Raber is the Planning and Development Director for Dubuque County. He has been a Dubuque resident three separate times but is not originally from Dubuque. A University of Iowa graduate, Ed has worked for non-profit and governmental organizations in Eastern Iowa on community and economic development for over 30 years.
Ed’s partner, Ericka Raber is the Librarian at Wartburg Theological Seminary. They met in the Hawkeye Marching Band where Ericka played clarinet and Ed played Trumpet, as well as the bagpipes with the UI Scottish Highlanders. They continue to play music in the Tri-State Wind Symphony and enjoy the live music scene in the Tri-States. Ed and Ericka have two children, Meredith (trombone and violin) who is a nurse in the Twin Cities, and Henry (French Horn and guitar) who is a junior at ISU.
