Assistant Principal (on leave)

David holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he studied with Maximilian Dimoff and Scott Dixon.

While completing his Master’s Degree at Northwestern University, he studied with Andrew Raciti and taught as a Teaching Assistant. A passionate teacher, David has taught Bass and Cello at The People’s Music School of Chicago, IL and now teaches privately throughout the greater Chicago area.

David is the Associate Principal Bass of the Illinois and Dubuque Symphony Orchestras, Principal Bass of the Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra, and section bass of the West Michigan Symphony. He is regularly sought after as a chamber musician, having performed with groups including the Fifth House Ensemble, the Kontras Quartet, and the International Chamber Artists. He also finds fulfillment in the orchestral world, performing with orchestras such as the Charleston Symphony, Elgin Symphony Orchestra, Madison Symphony Orchestra, and the Quad City Symphony Orchestra.

Adventurous by nature, his favorite pastime is hiking mountains in the American West, having completed nine of Colorado’s “Fourteeners” mountains over 14,000 feet in elevation. He endeavors to explore new mountains each summer, and has enjoyed hiking the Adirondacks of New York, Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, and the Grand Tetons of Wyoming.
