Principal Trombone

Cole Davis is a professional trombonist originally currently living in the Chicago area. Originally from Los Angeles, Cole got his Bachelor’s degree in 2021 at UCLA studying trombone performance under the instruction of James Miller and David Rejano of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Cole is currently in his second year of his Master’s at Northwestern University studying under Michael Mulcahy of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, along with Timothy Higgins, Douglas Wright, and Randy Hawes. Cole spent last summer as Acting Principal Trombone of the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music performing premiere works by composers including Jennifer Higdon, Carlos Simon, Tan Dun, and Kevin Puts. Cole has also enjoyed 3 consecutive summers as a fellow of the Aspen Music Festival from 2020-2022.
