The Dubuque Symphony Orchestra will welcome summer with an evening of patriotic favorites and orchestral classics during Summer Melodies on Sunday, June 28, 2027, at 6:30 p.m. at the Alliant Energy Amphitheater. Presented as part of the Dubuque Arts Council's popular Music at the Star concert series, the free outdoor concert invites the community to enjoy an evening of live music in one of Dubuque's premier riverfront venues.
The concert will feature a selection patriotic music celebrating the spirit of the nation, performed by the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra under the summer sky. Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a family-friendly evening of music and community. Arrive early at 4:30 PM to hear the final performance by the DSO Youth String Camp.
The concert highlights performances by Addison Hingtgen, winner of the 2026 Youth Concerto Competition, and this year’s Pursuit of the Podium fundraiser winner, Mantea Schmid. Adding to the celebration, local favorite River Breitbach and his band, River Glen, will join the orchestra as special guest performers. Their appearance, courtesy of the Dubuque Arts Council, will showcase hometown talent alongside the symphony in a performance designed to entertain audiences of all ages.
